Plates for Park Program exceeds 6,500 plates in first three years!

The Plates for Parks program gain momentum, thanks to the support of Wichitans and other friends of parks across Kansas. Since January 2019, over 6,500 city flag plates have been issued.

The program allows Kansans to purchase custom license plates featuring the Wichita flag when renewing their tags annually.  The $50 annual royalty fee will go directly to the Wichita Parks Foundation and will support park projects around the city.

For more information and an update of projects funded to date, visit our PLATES FOR PARKS PAGE.

Central Riverside Park is one of the crown jewels of Wichita's park system. The Wichita Parks Foundation works with the city and community groups to advocate for and help fund enhancements to the city's parks, as well as improve access to park programs for residents in need.

Parks are an important piece of Wichita's heritage.  The Wichita Parks Foundation works to ensure their lasting imapct.

The Wichita Parks Foundation (WPF) is a volunteer-led, 501(c)(3) charitable organization founded in 2011.

Our mission is to enhance the quality and maintain the heritage of Wichita’s park system by assembling necessary resources through developing partnerships and fostering relationships.

You may know us through programs we support, like Summer of Discovery scholarships for area children, renovations to the Kansas Wildlife Exhibit in Riverside Park, and our annual Red, White & BOOM July 4th celebration in downtown Wichita. We also work closely with community groups, like Friends of the Fresh Air Baby Camp and Open Streets ICT, to continue to support activities and park enhancements that improve our quality of life in Wichita.
